With the hot muggy summer months here, in Wichita, Kansas, we know that a lot of pests come out to play. Well we can’t forget about our mosquito friends that like to snack on us from time to time. The mosquito we are talking about in this post is the Asian Tiger Mosquito.
They are black and white and usually measure 5mm in length. Their legs are striped black and white. The males tend to feed on nectar, however the females feed on blood. These mosquitos are more aggressive than other mosquitos. They are known for caring yellow fever and dengue fever. The blood they suck is used in the process of developing the eggs. They tend to lay their eggs in water sources such as containers holding water. They are most active during the day and require very little water to breed.
Infestations can take place in places that are used for breeding. This includes standing puddles, containers, and or other bodies of water. If you think you may have an infestation, make sure to call All Star Pest Control. Our trained professional exterminators can take care of the situation and make sure it is done right the first time.
