1 . Add/ improve your insulation. By adding additional insulation to your home, you are creating an additional barrier between you and the pests that are seeking refuge in your home. By improving your insulation – sealing gaps around the house, making sure windows and doors shut tight, making sure you are using high quality insulation – you are reducing the openings that allow pests into your Wichita home and creating the barrier you need.
2 . Store firewood correctly. Whether you have a wood powered stove or just like to keep firewood around for the backyard pit for roasting smores, firewood needs to be stored properly. The best way to store firewood is away from your home and off of the ground. By storing the firewood away from your Wichita home, you are creating a longer path for pests between your home and the firewood they might inhabit. By storing the firewood off of the ground, you create a less desirable place for the pests to call home.
3 . Fix any leaks. Water is life for us and for bugs too. Dripping and stagnant water puddles are extremely attractive to pests of all kinds! By fixing leaks around the house, you are not only uninviting pests, but saving yourself from a lot of heartache and damage come springtime.
